WORCESTER, Mass. – Bentley University junior Janelle Magoon (Londonderry, N.H./ Londonderry HS), a Rider University transfer, scored her first goal as a Falcon, but five different players scored for Assumption College as the Greyhounds prevailed 5-1 in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon at AC's Multi-Sport Stadium.
Magoon shot into an open net in the game's eighth minute to even the contest at 1-1.
It remained that way until the Greyhounds (3-3, 1-0 NE10) regained the advantage with two goals in the final 8:50 of the opening half. Senior Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn.) broke the deadlock and sophomore Molly Quinlan (Fayetteville, N.Y.) made it a two-goal game with 4:39 remaining before the break.
Assumption broke the contest open with about 15 minutes remaining, scoring twice in a span of 75 seconds.
Junior Sarah Bodzinski (Southwick) turned in a seven-save effort for Assumption in net while Bentley junior Jana Mones (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) was credited with a dozen stops.
Bentley (0-5, 0-1) was outshot 25-10 overall and 18-3 in the opening half.
The Falcons will be home twice this week, taking on Stonehill Wednesday at 6 pm and LIU Post Saturday at 11 am.
