Bentley University’s Ashley Scholten (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield HS) and Frankie Tossona (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn HS) were recently named Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division II Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

For the second straight year, Bentley University junior defender Frankie Tossona (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn HS) has been selected for the 2017 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference field hockey team.

Bentley Tops NCAA Academic Success Rate Report, Receives President’s Award for Academic Excellence

Bentley University is tied for number one nationally in the latest NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate report. Of the three institutions who shared the top spot with a 98 percent ASR, Bentley is the only one that has a football program. In recognition of having a four-year ASR of 90 or better, Bentley received a “Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence” from the NCAA.

Sophomore Sam Pavano (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) posted a hat trick, junior Morgan Van Epps (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa HS) scored twice and seven other Falcons also put the ball in the net as Bentley University closed out the season with a 12-0 shutout of the University of New Haven in non-conference field hockey action Friday afternoon at Bentley.
