1st-Half Goal Propels No. 6 LIU Post to 1-0 Win over Bentley

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Sophomore Emily Miller (Bridgewater, N.J.) scored the game's only goal just past the midpoint of the first half to power LIU Post, the sixth-ranked team in Division II, to a 1-0 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey Tuesday afternoon at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

With their fourth straight win, the Pioneers improved to 12-3 overall and 8-3 in conference play. Bentley, which was outshot 13-3, dropped to 7-10 overall and 5-6 NE-10.

Miller, the second leading scorer in the conference, tallied her 15th goal of the fall, using a backhand after taking a feed from senior Lauren Adamusik (Clark, N.J.).

The shutout belonged to senior Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.), who was credited with one second-half save.

Bentley senior Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt./Burlington HS), the Northeast-10 leader in save percentage (.850), made seven saves.

Bentley's final game of the regular season will be Saturday morning at home against Assumption College with that game doubling as both Senior Day and Pink Day for the Falcons.
