COLCHESTER, Vt. – Senior midfielder Tori Ellis (Madison, N.J./Madison HS) stretched her scoring streak to five games, netting one in overtime to cap a Bentley University comeback and give the Falcons a 4-3 victory over St. Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon at Duffy Field.

Bentley, after erupting for three goals in a span of seven minutes to end the game, won for the fourth time in its last five contests to improve to 6-5 overall and 4-1 NE-10, good for a tie for second. St. Michael's dropped to 3-7 overall and 1-4 conference.

Ellis' sixth career game-winner came off a penalty corner as the Falcons amassed four during their closing burst. Taking the first and only shot of the extra session, she sent the ball through traffic into the cage for the decisive score. Sophomore Rachel Crowley (Leicester/Notre Dame Acad.) was credited with the assist on the goal.

Bentley entered the waning moments of the contest facing a 3-1 deficit after a pair of unanswered goals by senior Carolyn Avery (Lexington, Mass.). Her first broke a 1-1 tie with about two minutes left in the first half, and her second came with 13:38 left in regulation.

The Falcon comeback began with 4:56 to play as freshman Sam Pavano (Madison, Conn./ Daniel Hand HS) scored her fourth of the season, off an Ellis assist. A little more than two minutes later, Pavano provided the assist as junior Rebecca Schroder (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) scored her second of the game, tipping it into the cage after a blast from the top of the circle by Pavano.

Bentley finished with an 8-2 advantage in penalty corners and outshot the Purple Knights, 15-13. Sophomore Jana Mones (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) earned the win after allowing one goal and making one save in the final 36:59. Senior Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt./Burlington HS), playing near her hometown, had five first-half stops for the Falcons.

Bentley is back in action Wednesday with a 7 pm home game against Saint Anselm College.
