No. 6 Saint Anselm Shoots Past Bentley, 4-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Sophomore  Allia Connolly (Westford, Mass.) broke a scoreless tie with about two minutes left in the first half and Saint Anselm College, number six in this week's NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll, went on to record a 4-0 win over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey Wednesday night at Grappone Stadium.

Connolly also had a pair of assists as Saint Anselm improved to 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference. Bentley, outshot 13-6, dipped to 4-2 NE-10 and 6-5 overall.

Connolly's game-winner, assisted by senior Meagan Halligan (North Branford, Conn.), was shot out of traffic in front of the net.

Her two helpers came in the first ten-and-a-half minutes of the second half with senior Taylor Coons (Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.) and Halligan putting the ball in the net. A blast from just inside the circle by sophomore Emma Kincaid (West Bridgewater, Mass.) with 10:05 to play completed the scoring.

Junior Katherine Sears (Northboro, Mass.) notched her third straight shutout for the Hawks, making a total of six saves. Junior Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt./Burlington HS) was credited with three stops for Bentley.

Bentley will face another ranked team Friday afternoon at 4 pm with number ten Stonehill College making the trek to Waltham.
