Lirange Selected for Capital One Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Former Bentley University field hockey All-America Gina Lirange (Auburn/ Auburn HS) is one of 11 student-athletes chosen for the Capital One Academic All-District 1 women's at-large team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Lirange, Bentley's 2014-15 Outstanding Female Senior Athlete, will now advance to the national ballot for the 2015 Capital One Women's At-Large Academic All-America team, which will be announced next month. She is also a candidate for two major conference awards, Northeast-10 Woman of the Year and NE-10 Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

The women's at-large program includes those student-athletes competing in the sports of golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, swimming tennis, crew, bowling and gymnastics, as well as field hockey. District 1 includes the Northeast-10, the East Coast Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Lirange, a four-year starter and two-year captain who never missed a game during her collegiate career, finished her career with 33 goals and 15 assists for 81 points. The 2014 season saw her lead Bentley in scoring for the second straight year as she gave the Falcons ten goals, including three game-winners, and six assists.

Lirange was selected to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II All-America second team and was a repeater on the Synapse Sports Division II All-America second team.

Her success carried over into the classroom where she earned a 3.86 grade point average while majoring in accountancy. Lirange was chosen for the Academic All-Northeast-10 team for the third straight year and made her fourth consecutive appearance on the NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad.
