Athy & Hansbury Voted to Google Cloud Academic All-Super Region 1 Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University football co-captains Nick Athy (Holliston/Holliston HS) and Jack Hansbury (Tyngsboro/Chelmsford HS) have been voted to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-Super Region 1 team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Both student-athletes will now advance to the national ballot for Google Cloud Academic All-America® consideration. It's the second straight year that Athy has received All-District recognition.

Athy, a safety who also saw action at linebacker late this past season, and Hansbury, an offensive tackle, each appeared in all 42 games that Bentley has played since their arrival on campus. Athy made 27 starts and Hansbury finished with 34, including every game the last three seasons.

Hansbury has twice earned Academic All-Northeast-10 honors during his career, with the 2018 team to be determined after the first of the year. He was the only Northeast-10 Conference student-athlete tabbed as a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy and also one of only 25 from Division II institutions.

Athy was a first-team All-Northeast-10 and Academic All-NE10 in 2017 when he led the Falcons in tackles with 76. He was in on 46 stops this season and finished his career with 167 tackles, four fumble recoveries, six interceptions and three forced fumbles.

In the classroom, Hansbury has achieved a sensational 3.94 grade point average with a major in corporate finance and accounting and a minor in computer information systems. Athy, a finance major who also has a CIS minor, has earned a 3.61 GPA.

Bentley won three of its last four games this season to finish with a 4-6 record.
