Bentley Football Tabbed for 7th in Preseason Northeast-10 Coaches’ Poll

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University Falcons were tabbed for seventh in the Northeast-10 Conference football coaches' poll with coach Bill Kavanaugh's team collecting 38 points in the voting.

The Falcons, 5-6 a year ago after winning four of their final five contests, were nosed out for fifth place by both Saint Anselm College and Stonehill College, both of whom received 41 points.

LIU Post and American International College, who squared off in the 2014 NE-10 championship game, topped the voting with 74 points apiece with the former getting the number one nod by virtue of a 4-2 advantage in first place votes. Assumption College and the University of New Haven, who each received two firsts, followed with 65 and 62 points, respectively.

Bentley garnered slightly more respect in the d2football.com preseason NE-10 rankings with the Falcons projected for sixth place.

Bentley opens the 2015 season Sept. 5 at Mercyhurst University and will host New Haven six days later in the home and conference opener.
