Guadagnoli Named Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University quarterback Danny Guadagnoli (Framingham/ Framingham HS) has been named the Offensive Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference following his five-TD performance against the University of New Haven. It's the first time in his career he's received the honor.

In the Falcons' Homecoming Game Saturday, the graduate student threw for five scores and 485 yards, the most by an NE-10 quarterback this season and the third highest single game performance in Bentley history, in the stunning 38-35 last-second loss to the Chargers.  He completed 28 of 42 passes overall with all five of his TD passes putting the Falcons back in front.

The touchdown passes, distributed to four different receivers, covered 69, 27, 3, 16 and 19 yards. Three of the five came on third-down plays.

For the season, Guadagnoli is 94 of 146 (64.4 percent) for 1,238 yards, 11 TDs and a conference-best 157.73 efficiency rate. He's tied for the NE-10 lead in TD passes and is tied for second in passing yards.

The five TD passes, which matched his career-high, lifted Guadagnoli from seventh to fourth on Bentley's career list with 49.  He also moved to within 30 yards of 7,000 for his career, a milestone three Falcons have previously reached (Marc Eddy, Ted Larkin, Bryant Johnson).

Also recognized by the NE-10 this week, with selection to the Weekly Honor Roll, were two of his prime targets, graduate student Alex Farkes (Boston/BB&N School) and senior Jeff Hill (Mansfield/ Mansfield HS). Farkes, a former Penn State baseball player, established career-bests with six catches for 112 yards, including a 19-yard TD. Hill, one of the program's all-time leading receivers, pulled in two TD passes and had his 12th career 100-yard receiving game.

Bentley, 1-3 overall after difficult losses each of the last three weeks, will play at American International Saturday afternoon.
