The Sun Chronicle: "The gang's all here"

The Bentley football team has a number of players from the Attleboro area, including standout receiver Jeff Hill and team co-captain Bob Richman. David Carty, a sports reporter for The Sun Chronicle, talked to several of them for this story that appeared in today's Sun Chronicle and online at www.thesunchronicle.com.

WALTHAM - Pulling the Bentley uniform over his shoulder pads, Bob Richman looked around the locker room and saw a bunch of strangers' faces, those of his new teammates. The North Attleboro High product had graduated out of the Hockomock League and into the Northeast-10 Conference.

For today's Bentley University football team, those two leagues are not mutually exclusive.

The Falcons' 2014-15 squad fields a staggering 12 former Hockomock League players and another several student-athletes from Sun Chronicle-area towns who attended private school. Several had prominent roles on the team a year ago, including senior wide receiver Jeff Hill, a former Mansfield High standout whose size and skills could well land him in an NFL Training Camp next summer, and Richman, who started every game a year ago while racking up 37 tackles.

When he looks around now, Richman sees many familiar faces, recognizable through his years of football experience at the high school and college levels. When they look at his face, they see one of their two captains.
