Troiani Named to All-Cape League Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Following a standout summer on the cape with the Orleans Firebirds, Bentley University center fielder Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) has been named to the All-Cape Cod Baseball League team.

One of six outfielders to earn the honor and the only Division II player, Troiani was third in the league in hitting, finishing with a .345 average. He was also second in the Cape League in hits (49) and fifth in on base percentage.

Over the last ten years, Troiani is the only non-Division I player to rank in the top five in hitting in the Cape League. And of the 44 players from 2010-18 who finished their eligibility, only one was not drafted or signed by a major league organization.

Troiani, who played in the Cape Cod League All-Star Game, has led Bentley in hitting each of the last two seasons. In three Bentley seasons, he has a .315 career average with 129 hits in 102 games.

Troiani's collegiate honors this past season include first-team All-Northeast-10, second-team All-East Region, Academic All-Northeast-10 and Google Cloud Academic All-District. In 2019 for the Falcons, Troiani hit .320 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, 50 runs scored, 99 total bases and 17 stolen bases. He was in the top five in the Northeast-10 in runs, home runs, total bases and slugging.
