Troiani Named Cape Cod League All-Star

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University rising senior Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) has been selected as an All-Star in the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was one of only two Division II players to receive the honor.

Troiani will start in center for the East Division team when the Cape League holds its annual All-Star Game Sunday evening at Eldredge Park in Orleans.

It will be a familiar field for Troiani, who has had a standout summer for the Orleans Firebirds, batting .344 with a .431 on base percentage. In both of those categories, he ranks fifth in the conference. Troiani is also second in the CCBL in singles (31) and has a league-high 12 multi-hit games.

Troiani led Bentley in hitting each of the last two seasons, with averages of .320 this past spring and .351 in 2018. His honors during the 2019 campaign included first-team All-Northeast-10, second-team Division II All-East Region, Academic All-Northeast-10 and Google Cloud Academic All-District.

Troiani is one of at least four current Bentley players who have earned All-Star recognition with their summer team.

The others are Evan Christopulos (Andover/Andover HS) with the Nashua Silver Knights of the Futures League, Jimmy Hodgson (Newton/Newton North HS) of the Boston Park League's E.I. Braves and Ryan Corriveau (Milton, N.H./Nute HS) of the Intercity League's Alibrandi Baseball Club. All three are pitchers.
