Troiani Off to Strong Start in Cape League

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University rising senior Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) is off to a strong start with the Orleans Firebirds in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League with the Falcon center fielder fifth in the league in hitting.

In nine games for the Firebirds, Troiani is batting .355 with four RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases. He's been playing left while batting out of the clean-up spot and is tied for second in the Cape League in hits with 11.

On Thursday night against Yarmouth-Dennis, Troiani had his fifth two-hit game of the season, as well as a sacrifice fly.

Troiani, who led Bentley in hitting for the second straight season, earned a number of honors this past spring, including first-team All-Northeast-10, second-team All-East Region, Academic All-Northeast-10 and Google Cloud Academic All-District.

During this past season, Troiani hit .320 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, 50 runs scored, 99 total bases and 17 stolen bases. He was in the top five in the Northeast-10 in runs, home runs, total bases and slugging.
