Grover Tabbed to Play in Southeast Collegiate Prospect Showcase

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University right fielder and rising senior Brandon Grover (Rocky Hill, Conn./Rocky Hill HS) has been tabbed to play in the upcoming Southeast Collegiate Prospect Showcase, which will be held in Wingate, N.C. July 16 and 17.

The Showcase pits all-star teams from five collegiate summer leagues against each other in a two-day event.

Grover, a first-team All-Northeast-10 Conference honoree while playing for Bentley in the spring, is playing for the Marietta (Ga.) Patriots of the Sunbelt League this summer.

In 17 games for the Patriots, he's hitting .259 with four home runs and 13 RBI. He is tied for the league-lead in homers and RBI, is second in OPS at .888 (minimum 50 plate appearances) and third in slugging at .519.

That follows a spring in which Grover hit .337 and led Bentley in numerous categories, including home runs (7), RBI (38), slugging percentage (.566), doubles (13), total bases (94) and OPS (.976). The latter number was the highest by a Falcon in the last eight seasons. He finished the year with an 11-game hitting streak and was third in the Northeast-10 in slugging.

In addition to first-team All-Northeast-10 honors, Grover was selected for second-team Division II All-East Region accolades by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

A three-year starter, Grover will enter this final season with career totals that include 12 HR, 76 RBI, 72 runs scored, 122 hits and 201 total bases in 113 games. He owns a .276 batting average, a .455 slugging percentage and an .815 OPS.
