WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University graduate student Mike Walsh (Arlington/Arlington Catholic HS) was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II East Region Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 5-11.

The left-hander was outstanding in an 18-0 shutout of Nyack College on March 5, authoring a one-hitter with a career-high 12 strikeouts. He allowed only two base runners to reach base and both were eliminated on double plays.

The lone hit the Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week allowed led off the fifth inning.

For the season, Walsh is 1-1 with a 1.23 ERA. He's pitched a total of 14.2 innings with 19 strikeouts.

Bentley, 4-7, is in action this weekend with a four-game series against the University of Bridgeport in Lake Brantley, Fla.
