WINTER PARK, Fla. – The three-game winning streak for the Bentley University baseball team came to an end as the Falcons closed out a five-game trip to central Florida with a 6-5 loss to Concordia College (N.Y.) in non-conference action at Rollins College's Alfond Stadium Thursday afternoon.

After giving up four runs in the fourth to fall behind 6-2, Bentley struck for three runs in the top of the seventh to pull within one. However, the Clippers(4-5)  brought in lefty Joseph Impeduglia (Staten Island, N.Y.) and then righty Dylan Lawrence (Queens, N.Y.) from the pen. Impeduglia retired the four batters he faced and Lawrence pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for the save.

Junior right fielder Brandon Grover (Rocky Hill, Conn./Rocky Hill HS), who had two of the Falcons' five hits, led off the seventh with a double down the right field line. Junior DH Austin Farry (Watertown, Mass./Watertown HS) drove him in with a single to right center. Sophomore shortstop Chris Hopkins (Malden, Mass./Malden Catholic HS) sent a double in the same direction as Grover did earlier in the inning, putting two in scoring position. A grounder to second by junior third baseman Christopher Butler (Danvers, Mass./BB&N) brought in Farry, and Hopkins scored on a wild pitch, chasing starter and winner Michael Romano (Yonkers, N.Y.), a sophomore righty.

Concordia's fourth included a triple by junior first baseman Andrew Medina (Brentwood, N.Y.), a sacrifice fly by sophomore second baseman Kendell Luquis (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and a two-run single by freshman shortstop Blake Burgan (Holbrook, N.Y.).

Junior righty Daniel Riley (Mansfield, Mass./Xaverian Bros. HS) was the most effective of Bentley's three pitchers. He tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief, allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out one.

Bentley, 4-7 overall after a 3-2 trip, will be back in Florida for four games against the University of Bridgeport Mar. 16-18.
