MANCHESTER, N.H.. – Junior designated hitter Peter Bocchino (Saugus, Mass./Governors Academy) homered during a four-run sixth inning, propelling Bentley University to a 7-5 win over Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division baseball Monday afternoon at Sullivan Park.  It was the fifth win in the last eight games for the Falcons.

Bentley grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first when sophomore center fielder Brandon Grover (Rocky Hill, Conn./Rocky Hill HS) opened the game with a double to right center and scored on a pair of ground outs.

After the Hawks (9-20, 2-7 NE10 Northeast) tied it up at 1-1, Bentley reclaimed the lead with a run in the second. Freshman second baseman Tom Diskin (East Hampstead, N.H./Pinkerton Academy)) hit a one-out double and scored on a single to left by junior left fielder Nick Neshe (Waltham, Mass./Waltham HS).

Bentley (7-19-1, 5-2-1 NE10 Northeast) made it a 6-1 game in the sixth, the first two scoring on Bocchino's second home run in as many games.  Later in the inning, Grover had an infield RBI single and Diskin scored on a ground out by Neshe.

The Falcons picked up an insurance run in the top of the ninth, making it a 7-4 game. Freshman third baseman Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) droved in Neshe, who had walked, with his third single of the game, this one going to left.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Hawks picked up one run and had runners on second and third with their number three hitter, senior third baseman Nick Bragole (Newburyport, Mass.), up. Sophomore Ryan Corriveau (Milton, N.H./Nute HS), who earned his fourth save, struck him out swinging for the game's final out.

Corriveau, who gave up two hits and one run in his two innings of work, preserved the win for sophomore righty Luke Dawson (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS). In his first start since striking out a school record 15 against St. Michael's, he fanned nine while allowing nine hits and four runs.

In addition to the three hits by Troiani, Bentley's 13-hit attack included two apiece for Grover, Neshe, Bocchino and Diskin.

Bentley will be back in action Tuesday, hosting Stonehill in a 3:30 pm contest at DeFelice Field.
