Bentley University catcher Kevin Korwek (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) has been selected to participate in the 39th annual New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Joe Walsh All-Star Game, which will be held Monday, June 3 at Le Lacheur Park in Lowell, home of the Lowell Spinners. First pitch is scheduled at 7 pm.

HS) was Bentley University’s representative on the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Baseball All-Championship team following an ironman performance Thursday afternoon in a 4-3 11-inning loss to eventual champion University of New Haven.

Senior catcher Kevin Korwek tops a list of five Bentley University baseball players recognized by the Northeast-10 with the announcement of the all-conference team today. Korwek was selected for the first team, senior right-hander Jeff Croteau was chosen for second-team accolades, the third team included senior righty JP Ashline and junior center fielder Sean Keady, and freshman first baseman Evan Mondor was named to the All-Rookie team. In addition, Bob DeFelice, the dean of Division II baseball coaches nationally, was selected by his peers for the 2013 Bob Bellizzi Coach of the Year award.

A hard-hit single up the middle by junior third baseman Nate Witkowski (Melrose/Malden Catholic HS) brought home senior catcher Kevin Korwek (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) with the winning run as Bentley University scored two in the ninth to top Southern New Hampshire University, 3-2, in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Conference baseball championships Tuesday at DeFelice Field. The ninth-inning comeback from a 2-1 deficit propelled the Falcons into the double-elimination portion of the NE-10 Championships, which will begin Thursday at the University of New Haven.
