Yohe Tosses Four-Hitter in 6-1 Bentley Win over C.W. Post

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Junior right-hander John Yohe (Merrick, N.Y./St. Dominic HS) tossed a complete game four-hitter as Bentley University  topped C.W. Post 6-1 Monday night in non-conference baseball at Rollins College's Alfond Stadium. Junior Logan Gillis (Merrimack, N.H./Lawrence Academy) and grad student Bryant Johnson (Hopedale Mass./Milford HS) each had two RBIs for the Falcons.

Yohe, who notched his first wion of the season, struck out four and walked just one. The Pioneers' only run came in the top of the sixth when senior Matt Simone drove in sophomore Connor Coman from third after he led off the inning with a double.

The Falcons got on the board first in the bottom of the first. After a one out walk to freshman Mike Muir (Bridgewater, Mass./Xaverian Brothers HS), a failed pick-off attempt by starter Joey Arena allowed Muir to advance to third. Muir then came home when Gillis reached first on a throwing error by shortstop Keith Herring.

Bentley did its damage in the third inning with three runs, with a two-run triple by Johnson the big blow. With Gillis on first after a walk and Muir on second after reaching on a fielder's choice, Johnson ripped a pitch by Arena to right-center to bring them both home. Johnson then came around to score three batters later when senior Greg Baggett (East Bridgewater, Mass./East Bridgewater) reached on a fielder's choice due to a throwing error by second baseman Angel Pimentel.

That would be more than enough support for Yohe. The Falcons added runs in the fourth on a RBI single by Gillis to left, and an RBI single to right by Kevin Korwek (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) in the seventh.

Bentley continues its spring break trip Tuesday against Bridgeport in Winter Park at 11:00 a.m.
