WINTER PARK, Fla. – Rollins College junior first baseman Kevin Mager (Middletown, N.J.) had two RBI, his fourth and fifth of the series, and a run scored as the Tars topped Bentley University, 6-2, in non-conference college baseball Saturday afternoon at Alfond Stadium.

Bentley got on the scoreboard first, netting a single run in the top of the first. Sophomore DH Sean Keady (Norwood, Mass./Norwood HS) led off the game with a walk, advanced to third on another walk and an infield single by junior second baseman Logan Gillis (Merrimack, N.H./Lawrence Academy), and scored on a ground ball to short by junior first baseman Lamarre Rey (Lynn, Mass./Pingree School).

Grad student and right fielder Bryant Johnson (Hopedale, Mass./Milford HS) followed with a single to right, but Gillis was thrown out at the plate trying to score the Falcons' second run.

It didn't take Rollins long to answer. After a one-out walk, a single and a wild pitch put two men in scoring position, Mager singled to left, plating both the tying and go-ahead runs.

Bentley (0-6) picked up the equalizer in the third, evening things at 2-2. Freshman center fielder Mike Muir (Bridgewater, Mass./Xaverian Bros. HS) drew a four-pitch walk, stole second and scored on a single to right by Gillis.

Mager got Rollins started in the fourth, his lead-off single through the left side igniting a three-run inning. After stealing second, he came home on a single to right by senior catcher Sean Reilly (Westwood, Mass.). Later in the inning, senior DH Brian Lattanzi (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had an RBI single and senior shortstop Nick Adams a sacrifice fly that drove starter Rob Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City HS) from the game.

Rollins (6-3) outhit the Falcons 13-5, with Mager and Lattanzi two of the four Tars who had two-hit games.

Senior righty Mike Herrmann (St. Louis, Mo.) picked up the win for Rollins with five innings of four-hit, two-run pitching. Sophomore lefty Jack Murray (Milford, Mass.) and junior righty Anthony Figliolia (Winter Springs, Fla.) followed with two innings apiece of scoreless relief.

The two teams wrap up their four-game series Sunday with first pitch set for 12:30 pm.
