Bentley University senior Mike Vatti (Easton, Pa./Easton HS) completed his collegiate career in impression fashion Saturday, helping the Falcons score in three events during the final day of the New England Intercollege Men’s Outdoor Track Championships at MIT’s Steinbrenner Stadium.

Bentley University junior Sean Maguire (Essex, Vt./Essex HS) earned All-New England honors with a fifth-place finish in the 10,000 meters and two of his teammates, senior Mike Vatti (Easton, Pa./Easton HS) and sophomore Eric Kennedy (West Hartford, Conn./West Hartford HS), reached Saturday’s finals during Friday’s action at the New England Intercollegiate Outdoor Track and Field Championships at MIT’s Steinbrenner Stadium.

Turning in its best round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament, the Bentley University golf team tied for 13th out of 20 teams in the 2012 NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Super Regional, which concluded Wednesday at the Hershey Country Club East Course.

Bentley University placed four players on the 2012 All-Northeast-10 Conference baseball team, with two of the honorees, pitcher Rob Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./ Garden City HS) and designated hitter Greg Baggett (East Bridgewater/East Bridgewater HS) voted to the first team by the conference’s head coaches. Sophomore left fielder Sean Keady (Norwood/Norwood HS) and senior catcher Kevin Korwek (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) also earned All-Conference recognition with both selected for the third team.

A three-hour weather-related suspension of play and darkness prevented 12 of the 20 teams, including Bentley University, from completing their second round, in the 2012 NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Super Regional Tuesday at the Hershey Country Club East Course.

Grad student and right-hander Rob Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City HS) tied the Bentley University season and career records for wins while pitching the Falcons to a 7-4 win over UMass-Lowell in the first half of a Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division baseball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at DeFelice Field.

Junior Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS) had the best day two finish for the Bentley University men’s outdoor track team as the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Championships concluded at Southern Connecticut State University Saturday.

Eleven different Falcons enter the championships ranked in the top six of their respective events, with junior All-America Amy Varsell (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) at the top of the list of qualifiers. The three-time Northeast-10 champion is the top qualifier in both the 800 meters and the 1500 as she plans on competing in both on Saturday.
