Bio

Alison McCarthy, a 2012 graduate of Springfield College, is in her second year as an athletic trainer at Bentley University. She joined the Bentley staff in August 2019 and her primary sports are field hockey, women’s soccer, swimming and softball.

McCarthy came to Bentley after spending four years (2015-19) as an assistant athletic trainer at Pace University. Her duties included serving as the head athletic trainer for football during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, including practice and game coverage, rehabilitation plans and coordinating concussion baseline testing. She worked with 14 different teams and her responsibilities included medical documentation of treatments and injuries, rehabilitations, and all day-to-day operations of the Athletic Training Room.

McCarthy was also an Adjunct Professor in the Health and Wellness Department at Pace, teaching first aid, CPR, AED, Wellness and Physical Fitness.

Before Pace, McCarthy was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Villanova University from August 2013 to May 2015, and an athletic training intern at Bryant University the previous academic year.

McCarthy received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Springfield in May 2012 and her Masters of Arts in public administration from Villanova in May 2015.
