WALTHAM, Mass. – For the 21st consecutive semester, Bentley University had the most selections for the Northeast-10 Conference Academic Honor Roll (formerly known as the Commissioner's Honor Roll) with 361 student-athletes recognized for having a 3.0 or better grade point average during the spring 2019 semester.

The current method of honoring the NE10's best students has been in place since the spring 2009 semester with the Falcons heading the list each time.

At 75.8 percent, Bentley also had the highest percentage of its student-athletes qualify for the Academic Honor Roll, edging Adelphi University's 75.4 percent. It's the 21st straight semester that Bentley's performance has been among the conference's top three.

Of Bentley's 361 honorees, 11 achieved perfect 4.0 GPA's during the spring semester and received Academic Excellence recognition. That included women's track and field standout Stephanie Mattson, who had a 4.0 during both the fall and spring semesters.

The others were Emily Barthelmes (volleyball), Maeli Cherry (women's soccer), Frank Elenio (men's swimming), Marissa Fontaine (women's basketball), Jack Hansbury (football), Brooke Jameson (women's swimming), Brian Kirby (football), David Price (men's soccer), Tina Touri (women's cross country/track) and Ellis Yoder (golf).

In addition, a conference-best 179 of the 361 earned a GPA of 3.5 or better during the semester. Those student-athletes received Academic Distinction honors.

A dozen Falcon teams saw at least 80 percent of their student-athletes qualify for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, including women's soccer, which was perfect with 20 of 20 honored. Softball (19 of 20), field hockey (19 of 20), women's swimming (28 of 30), volleyball (12 of 13), men's cross country (12 of 13) and women's basketball (11 of 12) were all over 90 percent, and over 80 were men's lacrosse, men's swimming, men's track and field, women's tennis and women's track and field.

Collectively, 60 percent of Northeast-10 student-athletes qualified for the Honor Roll.
