WALTHAM, Mass. – Three Bentley University student-athletes have earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 honors in the men's at-large program, which was announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America. They are seniors Max Adler (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Northfield Mount Hermon School) of the men's lacrosse team and Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) of the hockey team, and junior Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) of the golf team.

French was voted to the All-District 1 team for Division I, and Adler and Meyers to the District 1 team for Division II. The men's at-large program, for both Division I and II, includes student-athletes competing in the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wresting.

French was voted Academic All-District 1 for the second straight season. Bentley's team captain, he led the team in both assists (22) and points (39) and was second in goals (17). In Atlantic Hockey, he ranked fourth in points and tied for fifth in both goals and assists. Those numbers helped him garner a second straight first team All-Atlantic Hockey selection.

The British Columbia native finished his career with 143 points, which ranked fifth among all players that were active in Division I this season. His 67 career goals ranked fourth, and 76 assists was tied for 12th.

Academically, French has achieved a 3.88 GPA while he pursued his Master's degree in accountancy, after he finished his undergrad degree in corporate finance and accounting in just three years. The May 2016 Summa Cum Laude graduate posted a 3.83 as an undergrad.

Adler was one of the most dominant players inside the face-off circle in Division II during his four years at Bentley. He currently ranks fifth in face-off winning percentage at 67.9% (201-296) and third in ground balls per game (9.54). Adler, who was previously named first team All-Conference by the Northeast-10 for the second straight year, won 70 percent of his draws and had 10 or more ground balls in seven of Bentley's 13 games. He was a third team USILA All-American in 2016 after he won better than 72 percent of his face-offs and scooped up 9.15 ground balls per game as a junior.

In the classroom, Adler entered this semester with a 3.44 GPA while majoring in corporate finance and accounting.

Meyers led the Bentley golf team in stroke average at 75.6 while shooting in the 70s or better during 21 of 23 rounds. He was Bentley's top golfer in five tournaments with four top-three finishes and is currently ranked 11th in the NCAA Division II East Region.

Meyers earned medalist honors in the Quechee Division II Challenge last fall and lost in a playoff during the Robert Trent Jones Individual Shootout last month.

Meyers, owner of a 3.78 GPA, majors in both accountancy and liberal studies, with a concentration in global perspectives.

All three will appear on the national ballot for Academic All-America® accolades.
