360 Bentley Student-Athletes Named to Northeast-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University placed a conference-best 360 student-athletes on the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the fall semester. The honor roll recognizes those student-athletes who achieved a 3.0 grade point average or better.

Bentley, in addition to leading the conference in most student-athletes recognized, also had the highest percentage, with 74 percent of the university’s 486 student-athletes who compete in a Northeast-10 sponsored sport earning the distinction.

Of the 360, 156 achieved GPA’s over 3.5 for the semester, including a perfect 4.0 from women’s soccer player Christiana Hynds.

A dozen Falcon teams had over 80 percent of their student-athletes earn Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition with the listed headed by women’s tennis, with all nine members earning at least a 3.0, and field hockey, with 19 of 20 honored. Also above the 80 percent threshold were men’s basketball, men’s cross country, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s swimming, men’s tennis, men’s track and field, women’s track and field, and women’s volleyball.

Bentley’s 360 was 81 more than the number two team on the list, Stonehill College, and the closest to Bentley’s 74 percent representation was the 68 percent recorded by Adelphi University.

Bentley’s academic success during the fall semester also saw 51 percent of the university’s student-athletes named to either the President’s or Dean’s List.  All of the varsity teams had at least a 3.0 GPA for the semester and 19 of the 21 averaged a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better.
